Excerpt from the Downbeat/JazzTimes Review:

Most exciting show I have seen so far this year: last night’s concert at Zinc Bar by vibraphonist/singer Erik Charlston and his super Brazilian sextet, channeling Brazilian genius Hermeto Pascoal. The live gig included a different, but absolutely killer rhythm section of Vitor Goncalves (piano, accordion), Eduardo Belo (bass), Café (percussion) and Mauricio Zottarelli (drums), as well as the wonderful multi-reeds player Charles Pillow.

Their new album “Hermeto: Voice and Wind” is stunning.
